World Federation of Power Leaders (President Lee San-ha; www.wfple.org; hereinafter, “WFPL“) has announced the winners for its “First PRESS AWARDS” awarded at the special ceremony celebrating the “World Movement Day of School Violence Expulsion(SVE)”
“Press Awards” are held under the supervision of WPFL-affiliated organization WFPL PRESS CORPS (President Lee Chee-soo, current Internet Newspaper Association of Korea and WFPL senior advisor).

PRESS AWARDS are intended to improve the quality of media and promote the pride of journalists, and the awards are given to news media and reporters including newspapers and broadcasters who have contributed in disseminating the true value and meaning of communities by spotting, delving into and reporting problems in each field of our society.
This year’s PRESS AWARDS have been chosen through the screening of experts in each field after receiving nominations from July 23 to October 31 in three categories for contribution, news media (newspaper and broadcasting) and journalists (announcers).
The achievement award is given to someone who has largely contributed in the development of WFPL PRESS CORPS and the establishment of the true value of media and who has committed to opening up “a world where we live together in peace,” a world where the disadvantaged are not marginalized and the culture of communication is expanded.
The winner of the achievement award was FORESTING HQ (CEO Eom Daniel).
The news media award is given to the news media including newspaper and broadcaster who have significantly contributed to the expansion of values and meanings of our society.

The journalist (announcers) award is given to reporters who have contributed to creating more righteous and happy world by spotting, delving into and covering problems in each field of our society and achieved greatness in various fields including the coverage, editing, reporting, photograph, filming and PD. The journalist award is classified into best journalist (announcer) award and outstanding journalist (announcer award).
The best announcer award winners were Linecom announcer Lee Song-ae and Sisun News announcer Park Jin-ah.

The best journalist award winners are STARTUPDADAR reporter John Yoon, Sisun News producer Han Sung-hyun, Sisun News reporting headquarter head Choi Ji-min, Tnews reporter Gwon Tae-soon and Tnews reporter Ha Jae-soo.
Lee Chee-soo, the chairman of the “PRESS AWARDS” organizing committee’s screening committee, said that “the role of media is significant in the sound development of the world which we build together, and that is why the public have high expectations toward the PRESS AWARDS.”
“I would like to express gratitude to the numerous news outlets and journalists participated in the entry,” he added. “Please excuse us that due to the limited number of awards prepared, we could not grant everybody the award.”
He also stressed that “there are still several problems we should address in our society,” and that “the media has played a significant role in solving social conflicts and problems in all ages.” “I hope that our society would become more righteous thanks to the PRESS AWARDS,” he added.
One of the officials of the WFPL Press Corps PRESS AWARDS organizing committee said that “the screening of each category involves documents review and preliminary investigation, fact check and evaluation analysis by the screening committee for each department and the review of meritorious achievement based on the screening standard for each sector by the WFPL Press Corps organizing committee’s committee for reviewing meritorious achievement.”
The “PRESS AWARDS” awarding ceremony will be held at the main auditorium of National Assembly Memorial Hall on Jan. 10, 2019(Thu, 2 pm) where the ceremony to celebrate “International Day of Movement for Eradication of School Violence” will be held. The awarding ceremony will be begun with the “seminar on how to settle safe society and combat school violence.”
WFPL Press Corps is a WFPL-affiliated media organization with the youth around the world, having branches in 17 metropolitan cities throughout Korea and around the world. WFPL Press Corps is an abbreviation for the World Federation of Power leaders’ Press Corps.
WFPL PRESS CORPS takes the lead in forming a just and happy world where the disadvantaged are not neglected by pointing out the bad practices and errors to be rectified in our society with the spirit of citizenship awaken all the time along with the challenge spirit and experimenting spirit.
WFPL PRESS CORPS is looking for people who are interested in at least one of the followings:
- Anyone who is interested in preventing and expulsing all sorts of school violence including verbal violence
- Anyone who wishes to rectify the bad practices in our society
- Anyone who wishes to build a world where the disadvantaged including women, children and the elderly are not neglected
- Anyone who wishes to convey various stories including politics, economy, education, scientific technology, health service and culture
- Anyone who wishes to build a just and happy world
Anyone who is willing to value of WORLD FEDERATION OF POWER LEADERS(WFPL) can be a reporter of WFPL Press Corps and act as a journalist through the Special Training Program for Professional Journalism(STPPJ).
The event is co-supervised by WFPL PRESS CORPS and National Assembly (Jung bae Chun parliament office) and Korea Institute of International Policies and is hosted by WFPL.
