세계청년리더총연맹(WFPL, WORLD FEDERATION OF POWER LEADERS, 이하 세계총연맹)은 지난 2007년 1월11일 설립된 '국제청소년연구원 (구. 국제청소년연구소, 초대 대표 이산하<李山河>)'을 모태로 한 비영리 정치적 중립기구로, 세계총연맹 부설 언론기관인 세계언론협회(WPA, WORLD PRESS ASSOCIATION)와 전국 17개 광역시•도 지부연맹 및 세계 각 국가의 지부연맹을 통해서 열정을 가진 청년인재들과 함께 사회의 구조적 모순에서 일어나는 위기상황을 해결해 나가는데 기여하고 있다. 또한 세계 각국 간의 교류와 협력을 통해 사회적 약자가 소외 받지 않고 참여와 소통의 문화가 확산돼 ’더불어 함께하는 세상'을 열어 가는데 가치를 두고 있다. |

세계언론협회 선언문
Declaration of the World Press Association
우리는 언론의 자유가 민주주의의 근간이며 국민의 알 권리를 보장하는 핵심 가치임을 확신한다.
우리는 자유롭고 독립적인 언론이 국가와 사회의 건전한 발전을 위한 필수 조건임을 믿는다.
우리는 특정 개인이나 특정 세력의 이익이 아닌 공공의 이익을 우선하며, 언론이 민주주의를 지키는 파수꾼으로서의 역할을 수행해야 한다고 믿는다.
이에 세계언론협회(World Press Association, WPA)는 언론의 자유와 민주주의 가치 수호를 위하여 다음과 같이 선언한다.
제1조 언론의 자유
우리는 언론과 표현의 자유를 보편적 가치로 존중하며 이를 수호하기 위하여 노력한다.
제2조 국민의 알 권리
우리는 국민의 알 권리를 보장하고 정확하고 공정한 정보 제공을 위하여 노력한다.
제3조 권력에 대한 견제와 감시
우리는 언론이 민주주의의 파수꾼으로서 권력에 대한 견제와 감시 기능을 수행하여야 한다고 믿는다.
제4조 특정세력의 권력 사유화 방지
우리는 국민이 위임한 권력이 특정 개인이나 특정 세력의 이익을 위하여 사용되는 것을 경계한다.
우리는 특정세력에 의한 권력 사유화로 인하여 불행한 역사가 반복되지 않도록 지속적으로 감시하고 행동할 것을 선언한다.
제5조 공정과 상식
우리는 공정과 상식이 통하는 민주주의 사회를 지향한다.
우리는 모든 국민이 공정한 기회와 공정한 과정을 보장받는 사회를 추구한다.
제6조 사회적 약자 보호
우리는 사회적 약자의 목소리를 대변하며 인권과 사회적 정의를 실현하기 위하여 노력한다.
제7조 미래세대 책임
우리는 미래세대에게 보다 자유롭고 공정한 사회를 물려주기 위하여 책임 있는 언론문화를 조성한다.
제8조 국제 언론협력
우리는 국내외 언론기관 및 언론인들과 협력하여 언론 자유와 민주주의 가치 확산을 위하여 노력한다.
제9조 언론윤리
우리는 사실에 기반한 보도와 책임 있는 언론활동을 실천하며 언론윤리를 준수한다.
선언
세계언론협회는 언론의 자유와 책임, 민주주의와 공공성, 인권과 정의, 그리고 미래세대에 대한 책임을 바탕으로 보다 자유롭고 공정한 사회를 구현하는 데 앞장설 것을 선언한다.
Preamble
We affirm that freedom of the press is a cornerstone of democracy and a fundamental value that guarantees the public's right to know.
We believe that a free and independent press is essential to the healthy development of society and democratic governance.
We place the public interest above the interests of any individual or particular group and believe that the media must fulfill its role as a guardian of democracy.
Therefore, the World Press Association (WPA) hereby declares the following principles.
Article 1. Freedom of the Press
We respect and protect freedom of the press and freedom of expression as universal values.
Article 2. The Public's Right to Know
We are committed to safeguarding the public's right to know and providing accurate and fair information.
Article 3. Oversight of Power
We believe that the media must serve as a watchdog of democracy by monitoring and holding power accountable.
Article 4. Prevention of the Privatization of Power
We oppose the use of public power for the benefit of particular individuals or interests.
We declare our commitment to preventing the recurrence of tragic histories caused by the privatization of power by particular interests.
Article 5. Fairness and Common Sense
We support a democratic society guided by fairness and common sense and seek equal opportunity and fair processes for all.
Article 6. Protection of the Socially Vulnerable
We advocate for vulnerable groups and work to advance human rights and social justice.
Article 7. Responsibility to Future Generations
We are committed to fostering a responsible media culture for the benefit of future generations.
Article 8. International Media Cooperation
We will work with media organizations and journalists around the world to promote press freedom and democratic values.
Article 9. Media Ethics
We uphold responsible journalism, factual reporting, and adherence to the highest standards of media ethics.
Declaration
The World Press Association declares its commitment to advancing a freer, fairer, and more sustainable society based on press freedom and responsibility, democratic values and public interest, human rights and justice, and responsibility toward future generations.
