Background of Development

오늘날 지속가능성은 기업 및 공공기관 경영의 핵심 가치로 자리 잡고 있다. 기후변화 대응, 탄소중립 실현, 환경보호, 친환경 기술혁신, 인권보호, 사회적 불평등 해소, 윤리경영 강화, 디지털 전환 및 이해관계자 중심 경영에 대한 요구가 확대되면서 조직의 지속가능성과 책임경영 역량에 대한 관심이 크게 증가하고 있다.

Today, sustainability has become a fundamental value in the management of corporations and public institutions. Growing expectations regarding climate action, carbon neutrality, environmental protection, eco-friendly technological innovation, human rights protection, social equity, ethical management, digital transformation, and stakeholder-centered management have significantly increased the importance of sustainability and responsible management.

국제사회는 ESG를 중심으로 다양한 평가체계를 구축하여 조직의 지속가능성을 평가하고 있으나, 기존 평가체계는 국가와 산업별 기준 차이, 정성적 요소 평가의 한계, 공공가치 및 책임경영에 대한 반영 부족 등의 한계를 가지고 있다.

The international community has established various ESG-based frameworks to evaluate organizational sustainability. However, many existing systems face limitations arising from differences among countries and industries, difficulties in assessing qualitative factors, and insufficient consideration of public value and responsible management.

특히 기업 및 공공기관은 단순한 ESG 성과를 넘어 공공가치 창출, 사회적 가치 실현, 미래세대 보호, 책임경영 실천, 혁신역량 강화 및 이해관계자 권리보호와 같은 보다 폭넓은 역할을 요구받고 있다.

Corporations and public institutions are increasingly expected to go beyond traditional ESG performance and contribute to public value creation, social value realization, protection of future generations, responsible management, innovation capability enhancement, and stakeholder rights protection.

이러한 시대적 요구에 부응하기 위하여 SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)는 세계청년리더총연맹(WFPL)의 책임경영 철학과 연구성과를 바탕으로 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능성과 책임경영 수준을 보다 체계적이고 객관적으로 평가할 수 있는 새로운 평가체계의 연구개발을 추진하였으며, 그 결과 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 개발하였다.

In response to these evolving demands, the Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission (SEC), based on the responsible management philosophy and research achievements of the World Federation of Power Leaders (WFPL), conducted research and development on a new evaluation framework capable of objectively and systematically assessing sustainability and responsible management performance, resulting in the creation of the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI).

WFSRI는 ESG(Environment, Social, Governance)의 기본 가치와 평가원칙을 포함함은 물론 공공가치(Public Value), 공동체 가치(Community Value), 미래세대 보호(Protection of Future Generations), 디지털윤리(Digital Ethics), 혁신가치(Innovation Value) 및 이해관계자 권리보호(Stakeholder Rights Protection)를 함께 반영한 확장형 책임경영 평가체계로 개발되었다.

The WFSRI was developed as an expanded responsible management evaluation framework that incorporates not only the core values and principles of ESG (Environment, Social, Governance), but also Public Value, Community Value, Protection of Future Generations, Digital Ethics, Innovation Value, and Stakeholder Rights Protection.

WFSRI는 조직의 지속가능성, 책임경영 수준, 사회적 가치 창출 성과, 미래 대응 역량 및 장기 가치창출 가능성을 균형 있게 평가하도록 설계된 통합 책임경영 평가체계이다.

The WFSRI is an integrated responsible management evaluation framework designed to provide a balanced assessment of sustainability, responsible management performance, social value creation, future-readiness, and long-term value creation potential.

기업 및 공공기관의 특성을 고려하여 각각 적용할 수 있도록 설계된 평가체계를 운영한다.

The framework is designed to be applied to both corporations and public institutions while taking into account their respective characteristics.

WFSRI는 공통된 책임경영 철학과 평가원칙을 기반으로 하면서도 기업 및 공공기관의 역할, 목적, 운영구조 및 경영환경의 특성을 고려하여 평가기준과 세부지표를 적용할 수 있도록 설계되어 있다.

While maintaining a common responsible management philosophy and evaluation principles, WFSRI is designed to apply evaluation standards and detailed indicators in consideration of the respective roles, objectives, governance structures, and operating environments of corporations and public institutions.

6대 평가부문(Six Major Evaluation Categories), 14개 하위항목(Fourteen Sub-Categories), 110개 세부지표(110 Detailed Indicators) 및 31개 핵심가치지표(Core Value Indicators, CVI)를 기반으로 객관성과 신뢰성을 확보한다.

The framework ensures objectivity and credibility through Six Major Evaluation Categories, Fourteen Sub-Categories, 110 Detailed Indicators, and 31 Core Value Indicators (CVI).

Evaluation of Sound Governance and Stakeholder Rights Protection

이사회 운영, 감사체계, 내부통제, 준법경영 및 이해관계자 권리보호 수준을 종합적으로 평가한다.

The framework comprehensively evaluates board governance, audit systems, internal controls, compliance management, and stakeholder rights protection.

⑨ 재무·비재무 리스크 관리역량 평가

Evaluation of Financial and Non-Financial Risk Management Capability

기업 및 공공기관의 재무건전성(Financial Soundness), 회계투명성(Accounting Transparency), 내부통제(Internal Control), 재무 리스크 관리(Financial Risk Management) 및 비재무 리스크 관리(Non-Financial Risk Management) 역량을 종합적으로 평가한다.

The framework comprehensively evaluates Financial Soundness, Accounting Transparency, Internal Control, Financial Risk Management, and Non-Financial Risk Management Capability of corporations and public institutions.

지속가능한 성장과 장기 가치창출은 재무적 안정성과 비재무 리스크 관리역량이 함께 확보될 때 가능하다는 관점에서 조직의 경영 건전성과 미래 대응 역량을 종합적으로 진단한다.

The framework assesses organizational resilience, management soundness, and future readiness based on the principle that sustainable growth and long-term value creation require both financial stability and effective management of non-financial risks.

⑩ SEC WFSRI Rating 연계

WFSRI는 SEC WFSRI Rating의 평가기준으로 활용되며 평가결과에 따라 AAA(Platinum), AA(Gold), A(Silver), BB(Certified), B(Not Certified)의 평가등급이 부여된다.

The WFSRI serves as the foundation of the SEC WFSRI Rating framework, under which organizations are assigned ratings of AAA (Platinum), AA (Gold), A (Silver), BB (Certified), and B (Not Certified).

⑪ ESG·WFSRI 평가분석센터 연계

Integration with the ESG·WFSRI Evaluation & Analysis Center

WFSRI 평가결과는 ESG·WFSRI 평가분석센터를 통하여 산업별 비교분석, 리그테이블, 책임경영 프로파일, 비재무 리스크 분석, 산업전망 정보 및 연구자료로 활용된다.

WFSRI evaluation results are utilized through the ESG·WFSRI Evaluation & Analysis Center for industry comparisons, league tables, responsible management profiles, non-financial risk assessments, industry outlook information, and research resources.
