SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)는 평가의 독립성, 객관성, 공정성 및 투명성을 핵심 가치로 하여 공공기관과 기업의 지속가능성 및 책임경영 수준을 평가하고 있다.

SEC (Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission) evaluates the sustainability and responsible management performance of public institutions and corporations based on the core principles of independence, objectivity, fairness, and transparency.

 

SEC는 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI, WF Sustainable Responsibility Index)를 기반으로 ESG 평가등급을 산정하며, 평가체계의 신뢰성과 일관성을 확보하기 위하여 관련 규정과 운영기준을 제정·운영하고 있다.

SEC assigns ESG Ratings based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) and establishes regulations and operational standards to ensure the reliability and consistency of its evaluation framework.

 

SEC 규정은 평가등급 운영, 평가결과 공표, 사실확인(Factual Review), 이의신청(Appeal), 인증제도 운영, 평가윤리 및 이해상충 방지 등에 관한 기본 원칙과 절차를 규정함으로써 평가의 공정성과 책임성을 보장하는 제도적 기반을 제공한다.

The SEC Regulations provide an institutional foundation for ensuring fairness and accountability by establishing the fundamental principles and procedures governing ESG Ratings, disclosure of evaluation results, factual review processes, appeal procedures, certification programs, evaluation ethics, and conflict-of-interest prevention.

 

특히 SEC는 평가기관의 독립성과 전문성이 신뢰받는 평가의 출발점이라는 원칙 아래 평가기준, 평가방법론, 평가체계 개정이력 및 주요 운영규정을 공개하고 있으며, 이를 통하여 평가 전 과정의 투명성을 지속적으로 강화하고 있다.

SEC believes that the independence and professionalism of an evaluation body are essential prerequisites for trusted evaluations. Accordingly, SEC publicly discloses its evaluation criteria, methodologies, revision history of the evaluation framework, and key operational regulations in order to strengthen transparency throughout the evaluation process.

 

SEC 규정은 단순한 행정절차가 아니라 평가기관으로서의 책무와 윤리, 평가대상 기관 및 기업의 권리 보호, 이해관계자의 신뢰 확보를 위한 운영원칙을 담고 있다. 또한 평가의 객관성과 예측가능성을 높이고, 지속가능경영과 책임경영 문화의 확산에 기여하기 위한 제도적 장치로 기능한다.

The SEC Regulations are not merely administrative procedures. They embody the responsibilities and ethical standards of the evaluation body, safeguard the rights of evaluated institutions and corporations, and enhance stakeholder confidence. They also serve as institutional mechanisms for improving the objectivity and predictability of evaluations while promoting a culture of sustainability and responsible management.

 

SEC는 앞으로도 규정의 지속적인 개선과 공개를 통하여 국내외 이해관계자로부터 신뢰받는 독립 평가기관으로 발전해 나갈 것이며, 공공기관과 기업의 지속가능한 성장과 사회적 가치 창출을 지원하는 책임 있는 평가체계를 운영해 나갈 것이다.

SEC will continue to improve and disclose its regulations in pursuit of becoming a trusted and independent evaluation institution recognized by domestic and international stakeholders, while operating a responsible evaluation framework that supports sustainable growth and social value creation among public institutions and corporations.
