Overview of SEC WFSRI Rating

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)가 개발·운영하는 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 기반으로 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능성, 책임경영 수준, 사회적 가치 창출 성과 및 미래 대응 역량을 종합적으로 평가하여 부여하는 공식 책임경영 평가등급 체계이다.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating is the official responsible management rating system administered by the Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission (SEC), designed to comprehensively evaluate the sustainability, responsible management performance, social value creation outcomes, and future readiness of corporations and public institutions based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI).

SEC WFSRI Rating은 평가대상 조직의 현재 성과뿐만 아니라 지속가능한 성장 가능성, 비재무 리스크 관리역량, 혁신역량 및 장기 가치창출 역량을 함께 평가함으로써 조직의 책임경영 수준을 보다 종합적으로 진단하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

 

The SEC WFSRI Rating aims to provide a comprehensive assessment of responsible management by evaluating not only current performance but also sustainable growth potential, non-financial risk management capability, innovation capability, and long-term value creation potential.

SEC는 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)의 평가결과를 보다 객관적이고 이해하기 쉬운 형태로 제공하기 위하여 평가등급 체계를 도입하였다. 이를 통하여 기업 및 공공기관의 책임경영 수준을 직관적으로 제시하고, 이해관계자의 합리적인 의사결정을 지원하고자 한다.

 

SEC introduced the rating system in order to present WFSRI evaluation results in a more objective and easily understandable format. Through this approach, SEC seeks to provide a clear indication of responsible management performance and support informed decision-making by stakeholders.

SEC WFSRI Rating은 WFSRI의 평가철학과 평가체계를 기반으로 운영된다. 따라서 평가등급은 단순한 점수 산정 결과가 아니라 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)가 추구하는 지속가능성, 책임경영, 공공성, 사회적 가치, 공동체 가치, 미래세대 보호, 디지털윤리 및 혁신의 가치를 종합적으로 반영한 결과물이다.

 

The SEC WFSRI Rating is operated based on the evaluation philosophy and framework of the WFSRI. Accordingly, the rating is not merely a numerical outcome but a comprehensive reflection of the values pursued by the WFSRI, including sustainability, responsible management, public value, social value, community value, protection of future generations, digital ethics, and innovation.

SEC WFSRI Rating은 6대 평가부문(Six Major Evaluation Categories), 14개 하위항목(Fourteen Sub-Categories), 110개 세부지표(110 Detailed Indicators) 및 31개 핵심가치지표(CVI, Core Value Indicators)를 기반으로 평가가 이루어지며, 평가결과에 따라 공식 평가등급이 부여된다.

 

The SEC WFSRI Rating is based on Six Major Evaluation Categories, Fourteen Sub-Categories, 110 Detailed Indicators, and 31 Core Value Indicators (CVI), with official ratings assigned according to the evaluation results.

SEC WFSRI Rating은 기존 ESG 평가등급 체계와 차별성을 가진다. 기존 ESG 평가가 환경(Environment), 사회(Social), 지배구조(Governance)를 중심으로 조직의 지속가능성을 평가하는 데 중점을 두고 있다면, SEC WFSRI Rating은 ESG의 기본 가치와 평가원칙을 포함함은 물론 공공성(Public Value), 공동체 가치(Community Value), 미래세대 보호(Protection of Future Generations), 디지털윤리(Digital Ethics) 및 혁신가치(Innovation Value)를 함께 반영하여 조직의 책임경영 수준과 미래 대응 역량을 종합적으로 평가한다.

 

The SEC WFSRI Rating differs from conventional ESG rating systems. While traditional ESG ratings primarily focus on evaluating organizational sustainability through Environmental, Social, and Governance factors, the SEC WFSRI Rating incorporates not only ESG values and principles but also Public Value, Community Value, Protection of Future Generations, Digital Ethics, and Innovation Value to comprehensively assess responsible management performance and future readiness.

SEC WFSRI Rating은 단순한 ESG 평가등급을 넘어 조직의 지속가능한 발전과 사회적 가치 실현을 지원하는 책임경영 평가등급 체계로 운영된다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating operates as a responsible management rating system that goes beyond traditional ESG ratings to support sustainable development and the realization of social value.

SEC는 2026년 1월 1일 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 기반으로 한 SEC WFSRI Rating 공식 평가등급 체계와 인증마크 디자인을 확정·공개하였으며, 2027년 발표 예정인 제1회 WFPL 기업·공공기관 ESG 평가 결과에 공식 적용할 예정이다.

 

On January 1, 2026, SEC officially adopted and disclosed the SEC WFSRI Rating system and certification mark design based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI). The system will be officially applied to the results of the 1st WFPL ESG Evaluation for Corporations and Public Institutions scheduled for release in 2027.

SEC는 앞으로도 SEC WFSRI Rating의 지속적인 고도화와 국제적 정합성 확보를 통하여 신뢰받는 책임경영 평가등급 체계를 구축하고, 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능한 발전과 책임경영 문화 확산에 기여하고자 한다.

 

SEC will continue to enhance the SEC WFSRI Rating and strengthen its international alignment in order to establish a trusted responsible management rating system and contribute to the sustainable development of corporations and public institutions as well as the advancement of responsible management culture.
