1. WFSRI 개발의 배경
Background of the WFSRI Development

 

WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)는 기업 및 공공기관(Corporations and Public Institutions)의 지속가능한 성장(Sustainable Growth), 장기 가치창출(Long-Term Value Creation), 사회적 가치 실현(Social Value Creation) 및 미래 경쟁력(Future Competitiveness) 강화를 지원하기 위하여 개발된 통합 책임경영 평가체계이다.

The WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) is an integrated Responsible Management Evaluation Framework developed to support the Sustainable Growth, Long-Term Value Creation, Social Value Creation, and Future Competitiveness of Corporations and Public Institutions.

 

WFSRI는 기업 및 공공기관의 책임경영 수준을 객관적이고 체계적으로 진단함으로써 투자자(Investors), 주주(Shareholders), 고객(Customers), 임직원(Employees), 협력기관(Partners) 및 다양한 이해관계자(Stakeholders)의 합리적인 의사결정을 지원하고 조직의 지속가능한 발전에 기여하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

The WFSRI is designed to objectively and systematically assess the Responsible Management performance of Corporations and Public Institutions, thereby supporting informed decision-making by Investors, Shareholders, Customers, Employees, Partners, and other Stakeholders while contributing to sustainable organizational development.

 

SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)는 독립성과 전문성을 바탕으로 기업 및 공공기관을 객관적으로 평가하는 전문 평가기관이다. 그러나 SEC의 평가는 단순히 조직의 현재 수준을 평가하거나 등급을 부여하는 데 목적이 있는 것이 아니라, 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능한 성장, 미래 경쟁력 강화, 장기 가치창출 및 사회적 신뢰 제고를 지원하는 데 그 목적이 있다.

The Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission (SEC) is a specialized evaluation institution that objectively evaluates Corporations and Public Institutions based on independence and professional expertise. The purpose of SEC's evaluations is not merely to assess current organizational performance or assign ratings, but to support Sustainable Growth, stronger Future Competitiveness, Long-Term Value Creation, and enhanced public trust.

 

이러한 철학을 실현하기 위하여 SEC는 기존 ESG(Environment, Social, Governance) 평가체계만으로는 충분히 반영하기 어려운 현대 사회의 새로운 책임경영 요구를 종합적으로 평가할 수 있는 새로운 평가체계의 필요성을 인식하였다. 이에 따라 공공가치(Public Value), 사회적 가치(Social Value), 공동체 가치(Community Value), 미래세대 보호(Protection of Future Generations), 디지털윤리(Digital Ethics) 및 혁신가치(Innovation Value)를 함께 반영한 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 개발하였다.

To realize this philosophy, SEC recognized the need for a new evaluation framework capable of comprehensively addressing the evolving Responsible Management challenges of modern society that are difficult to fully capture through conventional ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) frameworks alone. Accordingly, SEC developed the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI), incorporating Public Value, Social Value, Community Value, Protection of Future Generations, Digital Ethics, and Innovation Value.

 

이에 따라 SEC는 장기간의 연구와 검토를 거쳐 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 개발하였으며, 이를 기반으로 책임경영 평가(Evaluation), SEC WFSRI Rating, ESG·WFSRI 평가분석(Analysis), WFPL ESG 인증(Certification) 및 연구(Research)가 유기적으로 연계되는 통합 운영체계를 구축하였다.

Through extensive research and review, SEC developed the WFSRI and established an integrated operational framework that organically connects Responsible Management Evaluation, the SEC WFSRI Rating, ESG·WFSRI Analysis, the WFPL ESG Certification Program, and Research.

 

WFSRI는 단순한 평가지수가 아니라 기업 및 공공기관이 지속가능한 성장과 혁신을 실현하고 장기적인 기업가치(Corporate Value), 주주가치(Shareholder Value), 이해관계자 가치(Stakeholder Value) 및 사회적 가치(Social Value)를 함께 향상시킬 수 있도록 지원하는 책임경영의 새로운 기준(New Standard for Responsible Management) 으로 개발되었다.

The WFSRI is more than an evaluation index. It was developed as a New Standard for Responsible Management, supporting Corporations and Public Institutions in achieving Sustainable Growth and Innovation while enhancing Corporate Value, Shareholder Value, Stakeholder Value, and Social Value.

 

 

2. WFSRI 발전 연혁

2017년 1월 (January 2017)

연구 착수
Commencement of Research

기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능성과 책임경영 평가체계에 관한 기초연구를 시작하였다.

Research commenced on Sustainability and Responsible Management evaluation frameworks for Corporations and Public Institutions.

 

2019년 (2019)

WFSRI 연구개발 본격화
Launch of Full-scale WFSRI Research and Development

책임경영 철학을 반영한 평가체계 개발을 본격적으로 추진하였다.

Full-scale development of an evaluation framework based on Responsible Management principles was initiated.

 

2023년 (2023)

ESG 평가모델 운영 경험 축적
Accumulation of ESG Evaluation Experience

ESG 기반 평가모델 운영 경험을 축적하고 평가체계 개선을 위한 연구를 확대하였다.

Operational experience in ESG-based evaluation models was accumulated while research for framework enhancement continued.

 

2025년 3월 1일 (March 1, 2025)

WFSRI 개발 완료
Completion of WFSRI Development

WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)의 기본 평가체계 개발을 완료하였다.

Development of the core WFSRI Evaluation Framework was completed.

 

2025년 11월 1일 (November 1, 2025)

WFSRI 백서 초판 공개
Publication of the First WFSRI White Paper

『WF책임경영지수(WFSRI) 백서』 초판을 공개하고 평가철학, 평가체계 및 운영원칙을 공식 제시하였다.

The first edition of the WFSRI White Paper was published, officially presenting the Evaluation Philosophy, Evaluation Framework, and Operational Principles.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating 2026 초안 마련
Preparation of the SEC WFSRI Rating 2026

SEC WFSRI Rating 2026과 인증마크 체계의 초안을 마련하였다.

The initial SEC WFSRI Rating 2026 framework and Certification Mark System were prepared.

 

2025년 12월 26일 (December 26, 2025)

WFSRI 평가체계 최종 확정
Finalization of the WFSRI Evaluation Framework

6대 평가부문(Six Major Evaluation Categories), 14개 하위항목(Fourteen Sub-Categories), 110개 세부지표(110 Detailed Indicators) 및 31개 핵심가치지표(Core Value Indicators, CVI)를 최종 확정하고 『WF책임경영지수(WFSRI) 백서』 개정판을 확정하였다.

The Six Major Evaluation Categories, Fourteen Sub-Categories, 110 Detailed Indicators, and 31 Core Value Indicators (CVI) were finalized and incorporated into the revised WFSRI White Paper.

5단계 공식 책임경영 평가등급과 인증마크 체계를 최종 확정하였다.

The five-level Official Responsible Management Rating System and Certification Mark System were finalized.

SEC WFSRI Rating 및 인증마크 공식 공개
Official Release of the SEC WFSRI Rating and Certification Marks

SEC WFSRI Rating과 인증마크를 공식 공개하고 책임경영 평가등급 체계의 운영기반을 구축하였다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating and Certification Marks were officially released, establishing the operational foundation of the Responsible Management Rating System.

 

 

3. 미래 발전 방향
Future Development Direction

 

SEC는 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 지속적으로 발전시켜 기업 및 공공기관의 미래 경쟁력 강화, 지속가능한 성장, 장기 가치창출 및 사회적 가치 실현을 지원하는 세계적 수준의 책임경영 평가체계로 고도화해 나갈 계획이다.

SEC will continue to advance the WFSRI into a world-class Responsible Management Evaluation Framework that strengthens Future Competitiveness, supports Sustainable Growth, promotes Long-Term Value Creation, and advances Social Value for Corporations and Public Institutions.

 

향후에는 SEC WFSRI Rating의 지속적인 고도화, 핵심가치지표(Core Value Indicators, CVI)의 발전, 평가체계의 국제화, WFPL ESG 인증제도의 확대 및 ESG·WFSRI 평가분석센터 운영 강화를 통하여 기업 및 공공기관의 책임경영 역량을 높이고 투자자와 이해관계자의 신뢰를 제고하는 데 기여하고자 한다.

Future efforts will focus on advancing the SEC WFSRI Rating, enhancing the Core Value Indicators (CVI), strengthening the international alignment of the evaluation framework, expanding the WFPL ESG Certification Program, and reinforcing the ESG·WFSRI Evaluation & Analysis Center to improve Responsible Management capabilities and strengthen confidence among investors and stakeholders.

 

궁극적으로 SEC는 WFSRI를 기반으로 평가(Evaluation), 등급(Rating), 분석(Analysis), 인증(Certification) 및 연구(Research)가 유기적으로 연계되는 세계적 수준의 책임경영 플랫폼(World-Class Responsible Management Platform) 을 구축하여 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능한 성장과 미래 경쟁력 강화, 기업가치(Corporate Value), 주주가치(Shareholder Value), 이해관계자 가치(Stakeholder Value) 및 사회적 가치(Social Value) 증진에 기여하고자 한다.

Ultimately, SEC seeks to establish a World-Class Responsible Management Platform in which Evaluation, Rating, Analysis, Certification, and Research are organically integrated through the WFSRI, thereby contributing to Sustainable Growth, stronger Future Competitiveness, enhanced Corporate Value, Shareholder Value, Stakeholder Value, and Social Value for Corporations and Public Institutions.
