Overview of SEC WFSRI Rating

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)가 개발·운영하는 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 기반으로 기업 및 공공기관(Corporations and Public Institutions)의 지속가능성(Sustainability), 책임경영(Responsible Management), 비재무 리스크 관리역량(Non-Financial Risk Management Capability), 혁신역량(Innovation Capability) 및 장기 가치창출 역량(Long-Term Value Creation Potential)을 종합적으로 평가하여 부여하는 공식 책임경영 평가등급 체계이다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is the official Responsible Management Rating System developed and operated by the Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission (SEC). Based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI), it comprehensively evaluates the Sustainability, Responsible Management Performance, Non-Financial Risk Management Capability, Innovation Capability, and Long-Term Value Creation Potential of Corporations and Public Institutions.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 평가대상 조직의 현재 성과뿐만 아니라 지속가능한 성장 가능성(Future Growth Potential), 미래 대응 역량(Future Readiness) 및 장기 가치창출 역량(Long-Term Value Creation Potential)을 함께 평가함으로써 조직의 책임경영 수준과 미래 경쟁력을 객관적이고 종합적으로 진단하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is designed to provide an objective and comprehensive assessment of Responsible Management by evaluating not only current organizational performance but also Future Growth Potential, Future Readiness, and Long-Term Value Creation Capability.

 

SEC는 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)의 평가결과를 보다 객관적이고 이해하기 쉬운 형태로 제공하기 위하여 SEC WFSRI Rating을 운영하고 있으며, 이를 통하여 기업 및 공공기관의 책임경영 수준을 직관적으로 제시하고 투자자와 다양한 이해관계자의 합리적인 의사결정을 지원한다.

SEC operates the SEC WFSRI Rating to present WFSRI evaluation results in an objective and easily understandable format, thereby providing a clear indication of Responsible Management performance and supporting informed decision-making by investors and other stakeholders.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 WFSRI의 평가철학과 평가체계를 기반으로 운영된다. 따라서 평가등급은 단순한 점수나 순위를 의미하는 것이 아니라 지속가능성(Sustainability), 책임경영(Responsible Management), 공공가치(Public Value), 사회적 가치(Social Value), 공동체 가치(Community Value), 미래세대 보호(Protection of Future Generations), 디지털윤리(Digital Ethics) 및 혁신가치(Innovation Value)를 종합적으로 반영한 공식 책임경영 평가결과를 의미한다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is founded upon the evaluation philosophy and framework of the WFSRI. Accordingly, each rating represents not merely a numerical score or ranking, but an official Responsible Management evaluation reflecting Sustainability, Responsible Management, Public Value, Social Value, Community Value, Protection of Future Generations, Digital Ethics, and Innovation Value.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 6대 평가부문(Six Major Evaluation Categories), 14개 하위항목(Fourteen Sub-Categories), 110개 세부지표(110 Detailed Indicators) 및 31개 핵심가치지표(Core Value Indicators, CVI)를 기반으로 평가가 이루어지며, 평가결과에 따라 공식 책임경영 평가등급을 부여한다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is derived from evaluations conducted on the basis of the Six Major Evaluation Categories, Fourteen Sub-Categories, 110 Detailed Indicators, and 31 Core Value Indicators (CVI), through which official Responsible Management Ratings are assigned.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 기존 ESG 평가등급 체계를 대체하기 위한 것이 아니다. SEC WFSRI Rating은 기존 ESG(Environment, Social, Governance) 평가체계만으로는 충분히 반영하기 어려운 현대 사회의 새로운 책임경영 요구를 종합적으로 평가하기 위하여 개발된 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 기반으로 운영되는 공식 책임경영 평가등급 체계이다. ESG의 기본 영역을 넘어 공공가치(Public Value), 사회적 가치(Social Value), 공동체 가치(Community Value), 미래세대 보호(Protection of Future Generations), 디지털윤리(Digital Ethics), 혁신가치(Innovation Value) 및 미래 성장역량(Future Growth Capability)을 함께 반영함으로써 조직의 책임경영 수준과 미래 경쟁력을 보다 입체적이고 미래지향적으로 평가한다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is not intended to replace conventional ESG rating systems. Rather, it is an official Responsible Management Rating System based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI), which was developed to comprehensively evaluate the evolving Responsible Management challenges of modern society that are difficult to fully capture through conventional ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) frameworks alone. Going beyond the traditional ESG domains, it incorporates Public Value, Social Value, Community Value, Protection of Future Generations, Digital Ethics, Innovation Value, and Future Growth Capability to provide a more comprehensive and forward-looking assessment of organizational Responsible Management and future competitiveness.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 단순한 ESG 평가등급을 넘어 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능한 성장, 미래 경쟁력 강화 및 장기 가치창출을 지원하는 공식 책임경영 평가등급 체계로 운영된다.

Accordingly, the SEC WFSRI Rating operates as an official Responsible Management Rating System supporting Sustainable Growth, stronger Future Competitiveness, and Long-Term Value Creation for Corporations and Public Institutions.

 

SEC는 2026년 1월 1일 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 기반으로 한 SEC WFSRI Rating과 인증마크를 공식 확정·공개하였으며, 2027년 발표 예정인 '제1회 WFPL 기업·공공기관 ESG 평가' 결과부터 이를 공식 적용할 예정이다.

On January 1, 2026, SEC officially adopted and announced the SEC WFSRI Rating and Certification Mark based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI). The system will be formally applied beginning with the results of the 1st WFPL ESG Evaluation for Corporations and Public Institutions, scheduled for publication in 2027.

 

SEC는 앞으로도 SEC WFSRI Rating을 지속적으로 고도화하여 국제적 정합성과 활용성을 강화하고, 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능한 성장과 책임경영 문화 확산을 지원하는 세계적 수준의 책임경영 평가등급 체계로 발전시켜 나갈 것이다.

SEC will continue to advance the SEC WFSRI Rating by strengthening its international alignment and practical applicability, developing it into a world-class Responsible Management Rating System that supports Sustainable Growth and the advancement of Responsible Management among Corporations and Public Institutions.
