SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)는 세계청년리더총연맹(WFPL, World Federation of Power Leaders)이 설립한 기업·공공기관 평가전문기관으로서, 기업 및 공공기관(Corporations and Public Institutions)의 지속가능성(Sustainability), 책임경영(Responsible Management), 비재무 리스크 관리역량(Non-Financial Risk Management Capability), 혁신역량(Innovation Capability) 및 장기 가치창출 역량(Long-Term Value Creation Potential)을 객관적이고 체계적으로 평가하기 위하여 설립되었다.

The Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission (SEC) is a specialized evaluation institution established by the World Federation of Power Leaders (WFPL) to objectively and systematically evaluate the Sustainability, Responsible Management Performance, Non-Financial Risk Management Capability, Innovation Capability, and Long-Term Value Creation Potential of Corporations and Public Institutions.

 

SEC는 객관적이고 독립적인 평가를 통하여 조직의 현재 수준을 진단하는 것은 물론, 미래 성장 가능성과 장기 경쟁력을 함께 분석하여 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능한 성장과 책임경영 혁신을 지원하는 것을 설립 목적으로 한다.

SEC was established not only to objectively and independently assess an organization's current level of performance, but also to analyze its Future Growth Potential and Long-Term Competitiveness, thereby supporting the Sustainable Growth and Responsible Management Innovation of corporations and public institutions.

 

 

설립 배경 (Background)

 

오늘날 기업 및 공공기관을 둘러싼 경영환경은 기후변화, 탄소중립, 디지털 전환, 인공지능(AI)의 발전, 공급망 리스크, 인권 보호, 사이버 보안 및 윤리경영 강화 등 다양한 변화에 직면하고 있다.

Today, corporations and public institutions operate in an environment shaped by climate change, carbon neutrality, digital transformation, advances in artificial intelligence (AI), supply-chain resilience, human rights protection, cybersecurity, and strengthened ethical management.

 

이러한 변화 속에서 조직의 경쟁력은 재무적 성과뿐 아니라 지속가능성(Sustainability), 책임경영(Responsible Management), 사회적 가치(Social Value), 혁신역량(Innovation Capability), 미래 대응 역량(Future Readiness) 및 장기 가치창출(Long-Term Value Creation)에 의해 결정되고 있다.

In this rapidly changing environment, organizational competitiveness is increasingly determined not only by financial performance but also by Sustainability, Responsible Management, Social Value Creation, Innovation Capability, Future Readiness, and Long-Term Value Creation.

 

기존 ESG 평가체계는 기업 및 공공기관의 현재 비재무적 성과와 위험관리 수준을 평가하는 데 중요한 역할을 수행해 왔다. 그러나 조직의 미래 성장 가능성(Future Growth Potential), 혁신역량(Innovation Capability) 및 장기 가치창출 역량(Long-Term Value Creation Potential)을 보다 균형 있게 평가하는 데에는 일정한 한계가 있다는 논의가 지속되어 왔다.

Conventional ESG frameworks have played an important role in assessing current non-financial performance and risk management. However, discussions have continued regarding their limitations in providing a balanced assessment of Future Growth Potential, Innovation Capability, and Long-Term Value Creation Potential.

 

SEC는 이러한 시대적 요구에 대응하기 위하여 ESG의 기본 가치와 평가원칙을 존중하면서도 기업 및 공공기관의 미래 성장성과 장기 경쟁력을 함께 평가할 수 있는 새로운 책임경영 평가체계인 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 개발·운영하고 있다.

In response to these evolving needs, SEC developed and operates the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI), a Responsible Management Evaluation Framework that builds upon the core values and principles of ESG while extending its scope to assess Future Growth Potential and Long-Term Competitiveness.

 

 

WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)의 개발 및 운영

SEC는 자체적으로 개발한 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 공식 책임경영 평가체계로 운영하고 있다.

SEC develops and operates the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) as its official Responsible Management Evaluation Framework.

 

WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)는 6대 평가부문(Six Major Evaluation Categories), 14개 하위항목(Fourteen Sub-Categories), 110개 세부지표(110 Detailed Indicators) 및 31개 핵심가치지표(Core Value Indicators, CVI)로 구성된 통합 책임경영 평가체계이다.

The WFSRI consists of Six Major Evaluation Categories, Fourteen Sub-Categories, 110 Detailed Indicators, and 31 Core Value Indicators (CVI), forming an integrated Responsible Management Evaluation Framework.

 

WFSRI는 ESG를 대체하기 위한 평가체계가 아니라 ESG의 기본 가치와 평가원칙을 계승하면서도 공공가치(Public Value), 공동체 가치(Community Value), 미래세대 보호(Protection of Future Generations), 디지털윤리(Digital Ethics) 및 혁신가치(Innovation Value)를 함께 반영하여 조직의 미래 경쟁력과 장기 가치창출 역량까지 종합적으로 평가하는 확장형 책임경영 평가체계이다.

The WFSRI is not intended to replace ESG. Rather, it inherits the core values and evaluation principles of ESG while expanding the framework to incorporate Public Value, Community Value, Protection of Future Generations, Digital Ethics, and Innovation Value, enabling a more comprehensive assessment of Future Competitiveness and Long-Term Value Creation.

SEC는 평가(Evaluation), 분석(Analysis), 등급(Rating), 인증(Certification) 및 연구(Research)를 유기적으로 연계하는 통합 책임경영 플랫폼으로서 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능한 성장과 미래 경쟁력 강화를 지원한다.

SEC serves as an integrated Responsible Management Platform that organically connects Evaluation, Analysis, Rating, Certification, and Research to support the Sustainable Growth and Future Competitiveness of corporations and public institutions.

 

객관적이고 독립적인 평가를 기반으로 조직의 현재 수준과 미래 성장 가능성을 함께 진단하고, 투자자와 이해관계자의 합리적인 의사결정을 지원하는 동시에 기업 및 공공기관과 함께 성장하는 책임경영 파트너가 되는 것이 SEC의 역할이다.

Based on objective and independent evaluations, SEC assesses both current organizational performance and Future Growth Potential, supports informed decision-making by investors and stakeholders, and serves as a trusted Responsible Management partner that grows together with corporations and public institutions.

 

SEC는 앞으로도 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 지속적으로 발전시켜 책임경영 평가(Evaluation), 분석(Analysis), 등급(Rating), 인증(Certification) 및 연구(Research)가 유기적으로 연계되는 글로벌 책임경영 플랫폼을 구축하고, 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능한 성장과 장기 가치창출, 그리고 사회적 신뢰 증진에 기여해 나갈 것이다.

SEC will continue to advance the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) and build a global Responsible Management Platform that organically integrates Evaluation, Analysis, Rating, Certification, and Research, thereby contributing to the Sustainable Growth, Long-Term Value Creation, and enhanced public trust of corporations and public institutions.
