오늘날 세계는 지속가능성과 책임경영이 조직 경쟁력의 핵심 요소로 자리 잡는 새로운 전환기를 맞이하고 있습니다. 기후변화, 탄소중립, 디지털 전환, 인공지능(AI)의 발전, 공급망 리스크, 인권 보호, 윤리경영 및 공공가치 실현에 대한 요구가 확대되면서 기업 및 공공기관은 경제적 성과를 넘어 사회와 미래세대에 대한 책임까지 함께 실천해야 하는 시대적 과제에 직면하고 있습니다.

 

이러한 변화 속에서 조직의 경쟁력은 단순한 성장과 수익성만으로 평가될 수 없습니다. 지속가능한 성장, 책임경영, 혁신역량, 사회적 가치 창출, 그리고 이해관계자의 신뢰를 얼마나 확보하고 있는지가 미래 경쟁력을 결정하는 중요한 기준이 되고 있습니다.

 

 

WFSRI 개발의 시대적 의미

세계청년리더총연맹(WFPL)은 설립 이래 책임 있는 리더십과 지속가능한 발전, 공공가치 및 사회적 가치 실현을 핵심 가치로 삼아 다양한 연구와 공익 활동을 추진해 왔습니다. 이러한 철학을 바탕으로 SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)는 시대 변화에 부응하는 새로운 책임경영 기준으로서 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 개발하였습니다.

 

WFSRI는 기존 ESG(Environment, Social, Governance) 평가체계만으로는 충분히 반영하기 어려운 현대 사회의 새로운 책임경영 요구를 종합적으로 평가하기 위하여 개발된 차세대 책임경영 평가체계입니다. ESG의 기본 영역을 넘어 공공가치(Public Value), 사회적 가치(Social Value), 공동체 가치(Community Value), 미래세대 보호(Protection of Future Generations), 디지털윤리(Digital Ethics), 혁신가치(Innovation Value) 및 미래 성장역량을 함께 반영함으로써 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능성, 책임경영 수준, 비재무 리스크 관리역량, 혁신역량 및 장기 가치창출 역량을 보다 입체적이고 미래지향적으로 평가합니다.

이번 백서는 WFSRI의 평가철학, 평가체계, 운영원칙 및 활용방향을 체계적으로 정리한 공식 기준문서입니다. 동시에 기업 및 공공기관이 책임경영을 보다 효과적으로 실천하고, 투자자와 이해관계자의 신뢰를 높이며, 지속가능한 성장과 장기적인 가치창출을 실현할 수 있도록 지원하는 중요한 안내서이자 연구자료가 될 것입니다.

Message of Recommendation

A New Era of Responsible Management

 

 

Today, the world is entering a new era in which sustainability and responsible management have become fundamental drivers of organizational competitiveness. Climate change, carbon neutrality, digital transformation, advances in artificial intelligence (AI), supply-chain risks, human rights protection, ethical management, and the pursuit of public value require corporations and public institutions to embrace responsibilities that extend well beyond financial performance.

 

In this changing environment, organizational excellence can no longer be measured solely by growth and profitability. Sustainable growth, responsible management, innovation capability, social value creation, and stakeholder trust have become defining indicators of long-term competitiveness.

 

 

The Significance of the WFSRI

 

Since its establishment, the World Federation of Power Leaders (WFPL) has promoted responsible leadership, sustainable development, public value, and social responsibility through a wide range of initiatives. Guided by these principles, the Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission (SEC) developed the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI) as a new benchmark for responsible management in response to the changing demands of modern society.

 

The WFSRI is a next-generation Responsible Management Evaluation Framework developed to address the evolving responsible management challenges of modern society that are difficult to fully capture through conventional ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) frameworks alone. Going beyond the traditional ESG domains, it incorporates Public Value, Social Value, Community Value, Protection of Future Generations, Digital Ethics, Innovation Value, and Future Growth Capability to provide a more comprehensive and forward-looking assessment of the Sustainability, Responsible Management Performance, Non-Financial Risk Management Capability, Innovation Capability, and Long-Term Value Creation Potential of Corporations and Public Institutions.

 

 

The Role of This White Paper

 

This White Paper serves as the official reference document presenting the philosophy, evaluation framework, operational principles, and practical applications of the WFSRI. It is also intended to serve as a practical guide and research resource that helps corporations and public institutions strengthen responsible management, build greater trust among investors and stakeholders, and achieve sustainable growth together with long-term value creation.

 

 

Building Responsible Management Together

 

The World Federation of Power Leaders will continue to work closely with SEC in promoting responsible management and sustainable development. We will actively support the continued advancement of a fair, objective, and independent Responsible Management Evaluation Framework while helping SEC further strengthen its role as a Trusted Responsible Management Evaluation Institution.

 

We sincerely hope that this White Paper will serve as an official reference for corporations, public institutions, research organizations, policymakers, investors, and stakeholders, providing meaningful guidance for responsible management while contributing to sustainable growth and the advancement of a responsible management culture in Korea and the global community.
