A New Standard for Responsible Management in the Age of AI

 

 

오늘날 우리는 인공지능(AI)을 중심으로 산업과 사회 전반의 질서가 빠르게 재편되는 거대한 전환기를 맞이하고 있습니다. 디지털 전환, 기후변화 대응, 공급망 재편, 인권 보호, 윤리경영, 그리고 공공가치와 사회적 가치에 대한 요구는 기업과 공공기관이 추구해야 할 경쟁력의 기준을 근본적으로 변화시키고 있습니다.

 

이제 조직은 경제적 성과만으로 평가될 수 없습니다. 지속가능한 성장, 혁신역량, 미래 경쟁력, 장기 가치창출, 비재무 리스크 관리, 그리고 사회적 책임을 함께 실천할 수 있는 조직만이 지속가능한 신뢰를 얻을 수 있는 시대가 되었습니다.

 

이러한 변화는 책임경영을 바라보는 새로운 시각과 새로운 평가기준을 요구하고 있습니다.

 

 

WFSRI가 갖는 의미

 

세계청년리더총연맹(WFPL)은 창립 이후 책임 있는 리더십과 지속가능한 발전, 공공가치와 사회적 가치의 확산을 중요한 사명으로 추진해 왔습니다.

 

이러한 철학을 바탕으로 SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)는 WF책임경영지수(WF Sustainable Responsibility Index, WFSRI)를 독자적으로 개발하였습니다.

 

WFSRI는 기존 ESG를 대체하기 위한 평가체계가 아닙니다.

 

ESG의 기본 철학을 포함하면서도 ESG만으로는 충분히 설명하기 어려운 미래 경쟁력, 혁신역량, 장기 가치창출, 비재무 리스크 관리, 공공가치 및 사회적 가치까지 함께 평가할 수 있도록 설계된 공식 책임경영 평가체계(Official Responsible Management Evaluation Framework)입니다.

 

이러한 새로운 접근은 책임경영을 보다 종합적이고 미래지향적으로 이해하는 중요한 전환점이 될 것입니다.

 

 

백서가 갖는 가치

 

이번 백서는 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)의 개발 배경과 평가철학, 평가체계, 평가방법론, 평가기준, 핵심가치지표(Core Value Indicators, CVI), 그리고 활용체계를 체계적으로 정리한 공식 기준문서입니다.

 

동시에 기업과 공공기관, 연구기관, 정책입안자, 투자자 및 다양한 이해관계자가 책임경영을 보다 깊이 이해하고 실천하는 데 필요한 공식 해설서이자 연구자료로 활용될 것입니다.

 

무엇보다 이 백서는 책임경영을 단순한 경영기법이 아니라 조직의 지속가능한 성장과 미래 경쟁력을 실현하기 위한 새로운 경영 패러다임으로 제시하고 있다는 점에서 큰 의미를 갖습니다.

Message of Recommendation

 

A New Standard for Responsible Management in the Age of AI

 

Today, the world is experiencing a profound transformation driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI). Digital transformation, climate action, global supply chain restructuring, cybersecurity, human rights, ethical governance, and the growing importance of public and social value are fundamentally reshaping not only how organizations operate, but also the standards by which their competitiveness is evaluated.

 

In this new environment, organizational excellence can no longer be measured solely by financial performance. Sustainable growth, innovation capability, future competitiveness, long-term value creation, non-financial risk management, and the ability to create public and social value have become defining factors of long-term success.

 

These changes call for a new standard for Responsible Management.

 

 

The Significance of the WFSRI

 

Since its establishment, the World Federation of Power Leaders (WFPL) has promoted responsible leadership, sustainable development, public value, and social responsibility as its core mission.

 

Guided by these principles, the Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission (SEC) independently developed the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI).

 

The WFSRI was not developed to replace conventional ESG.

 

Rather, it incorporates the fundamental philosophy of ESG while extending the evaluation framework to areas that conventional ESG alone cannot fully assess, including Future Competitiveness, Innovation Capability, Long-Term Value Creation, Non-Financial Risk Management, Public Value, and Social Value.

 

As SEC's Official Responsible Management Evaluation Framework, the WFSRI represents a significant step forward in establishing a more comprehensive, forward-looking, and internationally relevant approach to Responsible Management Evaluation.

 

The Value of This White Paper

 

This White Paper presents the development background of the WFSRI, its evaluation philosophy, Official Responsible Management Evaluation Framework, evaluation methodology, evaluation criteria, Core Value Indicators (CVI), and practical applications in a systematic and comprehensive manner.

 

More importantly, it serves as an official reference for corporations, public institutions, researchers, policymakers, investors, and other stakeholders seeking to better understand and implement Responsible Management.

 

The significance of this publication extends beyond introducing a new evaluation framework.

 

It presents Responsible Management as a new management paradigm for achieving sustainable growth, future competitiveness, and long-term value creation in the Age of AI.

WFPL will continue to work closely with SEC to promote the global advancement of Responsible Management and sustainable development.

 

We will actively support the continued evolution of an evaluation framework founded upon Fairness, Objectivity, Independence, Transparency, Accountability, Professionalism, and Data Reliability, enabling Responsible Management Evaluation to earn greater trust both nationally and internationally.

 

We sincerely hope that this White Paper will become an authoritative reference for corporations, public institutions, researchers, policymakers, investors, and stakeholders, providing meaningful guidance for Responsible Management in the Age of AI.

 

We further hope that it will contribute to advancing a culture of Responsible Management and sustainable development not only in the Republic of Korea but also throughout the international community.
