Overview of SEC WFSRI Rating

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 SEC(Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission)가 개발·운영하는 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 기반으로 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능성(Sustainability), 책임경영(Responsible Management), 비재무 리스크 관리역량(Non-Financial Risk Management Capability), 혁신역량(Innovation Capability) 및 장기 가치창출 역량(Long-Term Value Creation Potential)을 종합적으로 평가하여 부여하는 공식 책임경영 평가등급 체계이다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is the official Responsible Management Rating System developed and operated by the Sustainable Enterprise Evaluation Commission (SEC). Based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI), it comprehensively evaluates the Sustainability, Responsible Management, Non-Financial Risk Management Capability, Innovation Capability, and Long-Term Value Creation Potential of Corporations and Public Institutions.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 평가대상 조직의 현재 성과뿐만 아니라 지속가능한 성장 가능성, 미래 대응 역량 및 장기 가치창출 능력을 함께 평가함으로써 조직의 책임경영 수준을 보다 객관적이고 종합적으로 진단하는 것을 목적으로 한다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is designed to provide an objective and comprehensive assessment of responsible management by evaluating not only current organizational performance but also sustainable growth potential, future readiness, and long-term value creation capability.

 

SEC는 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)의 평가결과를 보다 객관적이고 이해하기 쉬운 형태로 제공하기 위하여 SEC WFSRI Rating을 운영하고 있다. 이를 통하여 기업 및 공공기관의 책임경영 수준을 직관적으로 제시하고, 이해관계자의 합리적인 의사결정을 지원한다.

SEC operates the SEC WFSRI Rating to present WFSRI evaluation results in a more objective and easily understandable format. Through this system, SEC provides a clear indication of responsible management performance and supports informed decision-making by stakeholders.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 WFSRI의 평가철학과 평가체계를 기반으로 운영된다. 따라서 평가등급은 단순한 점수나 순위를 의미하는 것이 아니라, WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)가 추구하는 지속가능성(Sustainability), 책임경영(Responsible Management), 공공가치(Public Value), 사회적 가치(Social Value), 공동체 가치(Community Value), 미래세대 보호(Protection of Future Generations), 디지털윤리(Digital Ethics) 및 혁신가치(Innovation Value)를 종합적으로 반영한 공식 평가결과이다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is founded upon the evaluation philosophy and framework of the WFSRI. Accordingly, each rating is not merely a numerical score or ranking, but an official evaluation outcome reflecting the core values of the WFSRI, including Sustainability, Responsible Management, Public Value, Social Value, Community Value, Protection of Future Generations, Digital Ethics, and Innovation Value.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 6대 평가부문(Six Major Evaluation Categories), 14개 하위항목(Fourteen Sub-Categories), 110개 세부지표(110 Detailed Indicators) 및 31개 핵심가치지표(Core Value Indicators, CVI)를 기반으로 평가가 이루어지며, 평가결과에 따라 공식 책임경영 평가등급을 부여한다.

The SEC WFSRI Rating is derived from evaluations conducted on the basis of the Six Major Evaluation Categories, Fourteen Sub-Categories, 110 Detailed Indicators, and 31 Core Value Indicators (CVI), through which official Responsible Management Ratings are assigned.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 기존 ESG 평가등급 체계와 차별화된다. 기존 ESG 평가가 환경(Environment), 사회(Social), 지배구조(Governance)를 중심으로 조직의 지속가능성을 평가하는 데 중점을 두고 있는 반면, SEC WFSRI Rating은 ESG의 기본 가치와 평가원칙을 포함함과 동시에 공공가치(Public Value), 공동체 가치(Community Value), 미래세대 보호(Protection of Future Generations), 디지털윤리(Digital Ethics) 및 혁신가치(Innovation Value)를 함께 반영하여 조직의 책임경영 수준과 미래 대응 역량을 종합적으로 평가한다.

Unlike conventional ESG rating systems, which primarily evaluate organizational sustainability through Environmental, Social, and Governance factors, the SEC WFSRI Rating incorporates Public Value, Community Value, Protection of Future Generations, Digital Ethics, and Innovation Value in addition to ESG principles, thereby providing a broader and more comprehensive assessment of responsible management and future readiness.

 

SEC WFSRI Rating은 단순한 ESG 평가등급을 넘어 조직의 지속가능한 성장과 사회적 가치 실현을 지원하는 공식 책임경영 평가등급 체계로 운영된다.

Accordingly, the SEC WFSRI Rating operates as an official Responsible Management Rating System that extends beyond conventional ESG assessment to support sustainable growth and the realization of social value.

 

SEC는 2026년 1월 1일 WF책임경영지수(WFSRI)를 기반으로 한 SEC WFSRI Rating 공식 평가등급 체계와 인증마크를 확정·공개하였으며, 2027년 발표 예정인 '제1회 WFPL 기업·공공기관 ESG 평가' 결과부터 이를 공식 적용할 예정이다.

On January 1, 2026, SEC officially adopted and announced the SEC WFSRI Rating System and Certification Mark based on the WF Sustainable Responsibility Index (WFSRI). The system will be officially applied to the results of the 1st WFPL ESG Evaluation for Corporations and Public Institutions, scheduled for publication in 2027.

 

SEC는 앞으로도 SEC WFSRI Rating을 지속적으로 고도화하고 국제적 활용성과 정합성을 강화하여 국제적으로 신뢰받는 책임경영 평가등급 체계를 구축하고, 기업 및 공공기관의 지속가능한 성장과 책임경영 문화 확산에 기여해 나갈 것이다.

SEC will continue to enhance the SEC WFSRI Rating and strengthen its international applicability and alignment in order to establish a globally trusted Responsible Management Rating System, while contributing to the sustainable growth of corporations and public institutions and the advancement of a culture of responsible management.
